The William E. Smith House, located in Selma, Johnston County, North Carolina, is a two-story Classical Revival frame dwelling that was enlarged to its present size around 1912. Its most distinctive feature is the imposing front facade, which showcases a pedimented portico supported by giant Ionic order columns—a hallmark of Neoclassical design. Originally built circa 1900, the house was expanded in the early twentieth century and later became known as The French Country Inn. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and stands within the West Selma Historic District.
