Fair Lane, the former estate of Henry Ford and his wife Clara Bryant Ford in Dearborn, Michigan, sprawls across 1,300 acres along the River Rouge. Completed in 1915, the limestone residence blends Scottish baronial and Prairie School architectural styles through the collaborative work of Frank Lloyd Wright, Marion Mahory Griffin, and Joseph Nathaniel French. Beyond the main house, the expansive grounds originally encompassed an electrical power plant built on a dammed section of the river, greenhouse, boathouse, riding stables, children's playhouse, and treehouse, alongside landmark gardens designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen. Named after an area in Cork, Ireland, where Ford's adoptive grandfather was born, the estate now operates as a house museum and historical landscape open to the public, designated a National Historic Landmark with portions of the grounds preserved as a university nature study area.
