Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1897 for Chicago electrical contractor George W. Furbeck, this Queen Anne–style residence at 223 North Euclid Avenue in Oak Park represents a crucial moment in the architect's early career. Built for Furbeck and his bride Sue Allin Harrington, the house exemplifies Wright's transitional period in the late 1890s, when his work was evolving toward the fully mature Prairie style that would follow. While the exterior has undergone some alteration over time, the interior retains much of its original character. The home was recognized as a contributing property to a federal registered historic district in 1973 and designated an Oak Park Landmark in 2002.
