The First Baptist Church in Newton, located at 848 Beacon Street in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, was constructed in 1888 by architect John Lyman Faxon in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The building represents the congregation's evolution from its founding in 1788, translating over a century of religious life into a substantial Victorian-era structure.
