The Fleming Smith Warehouse, a six-story structure at 451–453 Washington Street in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood, was designed by Stephen Decatur Hatch and completed in 1891. Commissioned by Fleming Smith, who had previously engaged Hatch for another warehouse nearby, the building exemplifies Romanesque Revival and neo-Flemish architectural styles. Its distinctive facade combines rusticated sandstone blocks with brick cladding and is crowned by ornate gables. During the 1970s, it became one of Tribeca's pioneering commercial-to-residential conversions, and its ground floor was renovated into the Capsouto restaurant, a notable presence until 2012. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
