Built in 1893, the Fort Wayne Old City Hall Building in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana is a Richardsonian Romanesque sandstone structure designed by the architectural firm Wing & Mahurin. The building served as the city's functioning municipal seat until 1971, when city officials relocated to the City-County Building. Since 1980, it has housed The History Center, headquarters of the Allen County–Fort Wayne Historical Society, which has amassed over 32,000 artifacts displayed in permanent exhibitions tracing the region's development from the Ice Age through the present. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, the building remains an important repository of regional heritage alongside the Society's other properties, including the National Historic Landmark Chief Jean Baptiste de Richardville House.
