The Frederick Flagg House, a Colonial Revival residence at 65 Fairmont Avenue in Waltham, Massachusetts, was built in 1930 as a deliberate replica of the circa 1710 "Home Sweet Home" house in East Hampton, New York. A 2½-story wood-frame structure four bays wide, it features the characteristic saltbox profile of New England domestic architecture, with a rear roof sloping down to the first floor. Flagg's version distinguishes itself through a more elaborate entry portal, framed by Doric pilasters and crowned with a four-light transom and pediment. The interior replicates historic woodwork that was housed in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, making the house an intentional homage to early American domestic design. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, it stands as a thoughtful twentieth-century interpretation of colonial-era building traditions.
