The House at 26 Francis Avenue in Wakefield, Massachusetts is a Colonial Revival octagon house built in 1922, blending period and Craftsman aesthetics. The shingle-clad wood-frame structure rests on a high fieldstone foundation and presents an unusual footprint: roughly square with four square sections projecting diagonally from each corner, standing two stories at the rear and one-and-a-half stories in front. A Craftsman-style hip-roofed dormer with diamond-paned windows crowns the roofline, while the main entrance—oriented diagonally toward the intersection of Francis Avenue and Pine Street—shelters beneath a porch supported by round columns. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
