The Gatewood House, located at 235 Pine Bluff Street in Malvern, Arkansas, is a two-story wood-frame residence built in 1905 that exemplifies a vernacular interpretation of the Shingle style. The structure features a distinctive gambrel roof with an unusual design in which the upper level slightly overhangs the steeper lower sections, crowned by a front-facing gable. Its weatherboard exterior is articulated by a polygonal bay window on the left side and a recessed porch on the right, supported by clustered Tuscan columns. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, the house demonstrates the regional adaptation of early twentieth-century architectural fashions.
