Built around 1894 in Somerville, Massachusetts, this 2½-story wood-frame house exemplifies the fashionable synthesis of Colonial Revival and Shingle style architecture popular in the 1890s. Its most distinctive features include a wide gambrel roof with cross gables that are themselves gambreled, creating an intricate silhouette. The front cross gable is flanked by two hip-roofed dormers whose windows are framed by pilasters and topped with entablatures adorned with wooden garlands and dentil molding. The exterior is clad in wavy cut shingles, while tall entablatures crown the windows. A front porch spans the width of the façade, its full length open except for a sheltering portico at the entrance. The house was recognized for its architectural significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
