Hudson Yards is a 28-acre mixed-use development in Manhattan's Hudson Yards neighborhood, positioned between Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen on the Hudson River waterfront. Developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties, the project was master-planned by Kohn Pedersen Fox, with individual structures designed by architects including Thomas Heatherwick, Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, Foster + Partners, Roche-Dinkeloo, and Diller Scofidio + Renfro. Construction began in 2012, and the first phase opened in March 2019, comprising eight structures housing residences, a hotel, office buildings, a retail mall, and a cultural facility, all built on a platform over the West Side Yard, a Long Island Rail Road storage facility that inspired the development's name. Major office tenants include Tapestry, BCG, Warner Bros. Discovery, L'Oréal, Wells Fargo, and KKR, while special zoning designation has further catalyzed large-scale development in the surrounding Midtown South area.
