The International Finance Centre is a prominent mixed-use complex on Victoria Harbour in Central, Hong Kong, designed by architects Rocco Yim and César Pelli and completed in 2003. The development comprises two office towers (1 IFC and 2 IFC), a shopping mall, and the 55-storey Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. At 412 metres, 2 IFC ranks as Hong Kong's second-tallest building and the world's 38th-tallest, rivalling the original World Trade Center in height. The complex, developed by a consortium of Sun Hung Kai Properties, Henderson Land, and Towngas, became one of the world's most expensive commercial projects, with total costs exceeding HK$50 billion. The Airport Express station sits directly beneath the complex, connecting to Hong Kong International Airport. In 2003, a record-breaking advertisement for Financial Times, HSBC, and Cathay Pacific covered the facade, stretching over 50 storeys and spanning 230 metres—then the world's largest advertisement on a skyscraper.
