The Shanghai World Financial Center is a 492-meter supertall skyscraper designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and completed in 2008 in the Pudong district of Shanghai. This mixed-use neo-futuristic tower, developed by the Mori Building Company and engineered by Leslie E. Robertson Associates, contains offices, hotels, conference rooms, and a shopping mall. Upon its topping-out in September 2007, it became the world's second-tallest building and the tallest in mainland China by roof height. The Park Hyatt Shanghai, occupying floors 79 to 93, was the world's highest hotel at the time of completion. The SWFC opened to the public on 28 August 2008 and was recognized by architects as the year's best-completed skyscraper. It now stands adjacent to the Shanghai Tower and Jin Mao Tower, forming the world's first grouping of three adjacent supertall skyscrapers.
