The Joffrey Tower is a high-rise commercial development in Chicago's Loop, situated at the northeast corner of North State Street and East Randolph Street immediately south of the Chicago Theatre. The building serves as the permanent home of the Joffrey Ballet and occupies a site once held by the Chicago Masonic Temple, positioned within the Loop Retail Historic District across from Macy's second-largest department store. Originally scheduled for completion in December 2007, the tower was not finished until September 12, 2008. The building's role as the Joffrey Ballet's headquarters involved backing from city leadership, including Mayor Richard M. Daley and his brother William M. Daley, a co-chairman of the Joffrey board of trustees.
