Linden Hills Library is a Tudor Revival public library in the Linden Hills neighborhood of southwest Minneapolis, designed by area resident Joseph Victor Vanderbilt and completed in 1931. The branch relocated to its own building at 2900 West 43rd Street that year under the direction of Minneapolis Public Library's chief librarian Gratia Countryman, having originally opened in 1911 on the first floor of the Lake Harriet Commercial Club building. The structure features leaded glass windows, including a decorative panel above the entrance honoring past generations, two historic fireplaces, and outdoor terraces. Head librarian Edith Frost presided over the branch for more than thirty years, and the library became a gathering place for children's clubs, neighborhood groups, and women's organizations. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000 and renovated in 2002, it remains a cherished community landmark.
