Lions' Gate is one of seven open gates providing access to the Old City of Jerusalem, constructed in 1538 as part of the city's Islamic architectural heritage. Located on the eastern wall, it serves as the primary entrance to the Muslim Quarter. The gate is also known as St Stephen's Gate in English and Bab al-Asbat (Gate of the Tribes) in Arabic, reflecting the multiple cultural and religious traditions connected to this significant threshold in Jerusalem's historic center.
