Lotta Crabtree Cottage, a Shingle style house in the Breslin Park neighborhood of Mount Arlington, New Jersey, was designed by Philadelphia architect Frank Furness in 1885–86 for the American actress and comedian Lotta Crabtree. The 18-room lakeside cottage overlooks Van Every Cove and rises 2½ stories on the landward side and 3½ on the lake side, its exterior distinguished by Furness's characteristic "upside-down" chimneys with flaring corbels. An expansive piazza wraps three sides, including a semi-circular section following the curve of the parlor. The interior showcases Aesthetic Movement details typical of Furness's work, among them a fireplace flanked by terra cotta dog-faced beasts and a billiard room with a monumental stone fireplace that once bore a mosaic reading "18 - LOTTA - 86" in gemstones. Crabtree, a celebrity in 1886, received the house as part of a promotional campaign for Furness's nearby Breslin Hotel resort and renamed it "Attol Tryst," summering there for twenty years. The cottage is now a contributing property to the Mount Arlington Historic District.
