Pennington Cottage, located at Deer Park in Garrett County, Maryland, is a 2½-story Shingle Style frame residence built in the late nineteenth century as part of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's Deer Park Hotel complex. Designed as the summer home of Baltimore architect Josias Pennington, the structure exemplifies the style through its gambrel roof and wood-shingle exterior, which completely covers the façade in dark shingles. A distinctive one-story porch extends across the principal front and wraps partially along the sides. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, it remains by far the best-preserved building of the original hotel complex and currently operates as a bed-and-breakfast inn.
