The Manchester Reform Club, located at the corner of King Street and Spring Gardens, is a Grade II* listed Victorian gentlemen's club built in 1870–71 to designs by Edward Salomons and John Philpot Jones. Constructed of sandstone in the Venetian Gothic style, the building opened in October 1871 under the patronage of the 2nd Earl Granville, then Foreign Secretary, and served as the clubhouse for the city's Liberal Party. Following the club's decline, the structure underwent successive transformations as a restaurant and bar before being listed in 1974. Since 2022, it has operated as House of Books & Friends, an independent bookshop and community space.
