Mannheim Palace is a large Baroque residence in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, built as the principal seat of the Prince-electors of the Palatinate from the House of Wittelsbach until 1777. The palace was designed by multiple architects including Johann Jacob Rischer, Guillaume d'Hauberat, Kaspar Herwarthel, Louis Remy de la Fosse, Alessandro Galli da Bibbiena, and Nicolas de Pigage. Today, the palace serves multiple purposes: part of it houses the University of Mannheim, while the remainder functions as a museum open to visitors with audioguides, displaying tapestries, furniture, paintings, porcelain, and silverware. The building holds the status of a Kulturdenkmal, recognized as a cultural monument in Germany.
