Schwetzingen Palace is a Rococo schloss in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, designed by Johann Adam Breunig as a summer residence for the Electors Palatine Charles III Philip and Charles IV Theodore of the House of Wittelsbach. Strategically positioned between the electors' principal seats at Heidelberg and Mannheim, the palace is renowned chiefly for its exceptionally well-preserved ornate gardens. The compound extends beyond the palace proper to include the Schlosstheater Schwetzingen, which serves as the principal venue for the annual Schwetzingen Festival. Now designated a Kulturdenkmal, the ensemble represents a significant example of eighteenth-century palatial architecture and landscape design.
