Schloss Hohenheim is a Rococo manor estate in Stuttgart, Germany, with roots reaching back to the 12th century when it functioned as a fief of the County of Württemberg. In 1768, Charles Eugene, Duke of Württemberg acquired the property and commissioned its reconstruction as an elegant residential palace with expansive gardens, designed by architect Reinhard Fischer. The rebuilt estate was intended for Charles Eugene's future wife, Franziska von Hohenheim, and served as the principal ducal residence from 1772 until 1797, when it passed to the city of Stuttgart. In the early 19th century, the castle housed an Agricultural Educational Testing and Model Institution; today it remains an active center, serving the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments of the University of Hohenheim.
