The McKinley National Memorial in Canton, Ohio, is a Renaissance Revival mausoleum designed by Harold Van Buren Magonigle and completed in 1907 as the final resting place of William McKinley, the 25th President of the United States, who served from 1897 until his assassination in 1901. Canton held deep significance for McKinley throughout his life—the city was his home, the site of his law practice, and the center of his political campaigns. Now designated a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the memorial stands as both a monument to a slain president and an anchor to the local history that shaped his career.
