Standing on the Mendocino headlands overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Mendocino Presbyterian Church exemplifies the Carpenter Gothic style in its board-and-batten redwood construction and distinctive architectural vocabulary—a tall side-entrance bell tower, steeply pitched gabled roof, and lancet windows. Built of coast redwood, the church features stained glass windows created by local artist Leone McNeil Zimmer. Designated California Historical Landmark No. 714, it remains a contributing property within the Mendocino and Headlands Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
