The National Library of Kosovo, located in Pristina, is the country's premier library institution, designed by Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjaković in a striking brutalist style. Established in 1944, the building has become recognized for its distinctive and controversial architectural presence, earning a place among the world's most debated structures. Designated a cultural heritage monument of Kosovo, the library serves as the repository of the nation's documentary and intellectual heritage, collecting and preserving materials including an archive of national newspapers. Beyond its role as a research and archival institution, it hosts exhibitions and provides a range of public services, making it both an architectural landmark and a vital cultural facility.
