The Olympic Stadium in Wrocław, Poland is a multi-purpose sports venue built in 1928 in the Art Deco style by architect Richard Konwiarz. Originally designed with greater ambitions—it was slated to serve as one of the principal venues for UEFA Euro 2012—the stadium was ultimately bypassed in favor of the newly constructed Stadion Miejski. Today it operates with a capacity of approximately 11,000 spectators and serves as the home ground for local speedway team Sparta Wrocław and American football team Panthers Wrocław. Recognized as an immovable architectural monument in Poland, the stadium stands as a testament to early twentieth-century sports architecture.
