The Onawa IOOF Opera House in Onawa, Iowa, is a Romanesque Revival structure completed in November 1900 that became central to the town's vibrant theatrical culture in the early twentieth century. Scarcely a month after its completion, the building suffered severe fire damage on December 24, 1900, yet it endured as a landmark of Onawa's "strong tradition of live-stage entertainment" spanning from the late 1880s through the mid-1920s. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, the opera house represents one of three significant theatrical structures that shaped the town's cultural identity during this period.
