Palais Augarten is a Baroque palace designed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach in Vienna's Leopoldstadt district, constructed in the late seventeenth century on the grounds of an earlier hunting lodge and gardens. The palace and its grounds underwent expansion during the nineteenth century under Emperor Franz Joseph I. Despite significant World War II damage, the building was restored to approximate its original appearance, retaining many period furnishings. Now home to the Vienna Boys' Choir and their school, the palace occupies the 130-acre Augarten park, Vienna's oldest Baroque garden.
