Pleasant Grove Community Church and Cemetery, located at 56971 170th Street in Ames, Iowa, is a Georgian-style church building founded in 1873 and completed in 1874. Originally known as the Methodist Episcopal Church of Milford Township, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. The church's cemetery was established when land was purchased in 1877; some gravestones predate the formal cemetery creation. The building endured several closures, including from 1917 to 1925 due to the Spanish Flu pandemic and World War I, and again from 1933 to 1939. Following the latter closure, substantial restoration work was undertaken, notably on September 27, 1940, when over 56 volunteers gathered for a single day of repairs. A basement was added in 1940 and electricity installed in 1941. The church was closed again during the 1950s until reopening in 1960.
