The Richland County Courthouse in Wahpeton, North Dakota, completed in 1912, exemplifies Beaux-Arts design through the work of architects Buechner & Orth. Its exterior combines rusticated Kettle River sandstone with Bedford limestone, while the prominent front façade displays four Corinthian columns. The building's most distinctive feature is an octagonal limestone tower with windows on all eight sides, crowned by a metal dome and ball finial. Inside, the rotunda showcases classical elegance with murals set against white marble and terrazzo. The courthouse was recognized as a National Register of Historic Places property in 1980.
