The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences is a 312-foot luxury residential skyscraper in San Francisco's Financial District, built atop the historic Old Chronicle Building (also known as the de Young Building), which was constructed in 1890 by the architectural firm Burnham and Root. The underlying structure represents California's first skyscraper, designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style that characterized pioneering tall buildings of the era.
