Rising 28 stories on the south bank of Jacksonville's St. Johns River, Riverplace Tower stands as a landmark of mid-century modern design completed in 1967 by architect Welton Becket. Upon its completion, it was Florida's tallest building and became the defining architectural statement in Jacksonville's skyline. The American Institute of Architects's Florida Chapter recognized its enduring significance by including it in its 2012 list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places, acknowledging its role in the state's architectural heritage.
