Built in 1866 in Hamilton, Ohio, the Robinson–Schwenn Building began its life as the Dixon Opera House before becoming known as the Globe Opera House. Designed in Romanesque Revival and Italianate styles, the structure served its community through multiple functions—from opera house to department store—over more than a century. The building was recognized for its historical significance and listed in the National Register of Historic Places on July 14, 2000. Following a comprehensive renovation in 2012–2013, it was repurposed as an arts and community center operated by Miami University, securing its role in the cultural life of the region.
