Located on the Hudson River near Hyde Park, New York, the Roosevelt Point Cottage and Boathouse are Carpenter Gothic structures built around 1860 as part of Rosedale, the estate of Isaac Roosevelt, grandfather of Franklin D. Roosevelt. The boathouse served a practical purpose in the life of Isaac's son John, a champion ice yachter who stored his vessels there, while the adjacent cottage provided a warming space for his crews. Both buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 as a single listing, preserving their significance as relics of nineteenth-century Hudson River estate life.
