Schloss Esterházy is a castle and museum in Eisenstadt, capital of Austria's Burgenland state. Constructed in the late 13th century, it came under the Hungarian Esterházy family in 1622 and was converted into a baroque castle under Paul I, 1st Prince Esterházy of Galántha. It remained the family's principal residence and administrative centre for over 300 years, and the composer Joseph Haydn worked there for most of his life. Carlo Martino Carlone is credited as its architect.
