Scotiabank Arena, located on Bay Street in downtown Toronto, is a multi-purpose venue designed by Populous and completed in 1999 at a cost of $288 million. Originally constructed as the Toronto Postal Delivery Building in 1941, the structure underwent major redevelopment beginning in 1997 and opened as a modern arena on February 19, 1999. Spanning approximately 665,000 square feet, it serves as the primary home of the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Toronto Raptors (NBA), along with their development teams and occasional games by other professional franchises. The venue also hosts concerts, political conventions, and esports competitions. Owned and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd., Scotiabank Arena is designated as a heritage property under Part IV, bridging its historical role as a postal terminal with its contemporary status as one of North America's busiest sports and entertainment facilities.
