Built in 1891, the Second Pinal County Courthouse stands as a three-story redbrick structure at Pinal and 12th streets in Florence, Arizona. Designed by prominent Arizona architect James M. Creighton in the Late Victorian Revival style, the building is distinguished by an ornate clock tower—though financial constraints prevented the installation of actual clockworks, leaving only a painted clock face with hands frozen at 11:44. Serving as Pinal County's second courthouse until its replacement in 1961, the building subsequently deteriorated and closed in 2005. Following its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, it was identified in 2007 as one of Arizona's most endangered historic structures. In 2011, county supervisors approved a renovation plan to restore the courthouse for use by county administrative offices.
