Located at 106 West Franklin Avenue in Sesser, Illinois, the Sesser Opera House is a 1914 theater built in the Mission Revival style to replace an earlier venue destroyed by fire in 1910. Designed with characteristic Spanish Colonial features—including stucco interior finishes, a large arched entrance evoking an arcade, and a projecting eave crowned with Spanish tiles—the building originally served multiple entertainment functions, hosting theatrical performances, vaudeville acts, traveling musicians, and films alongside local meetings and community events. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, it represents one of three Franklin County sites on the register.
