The Sveti Sedmochislenitsi Church in Sofia, Bulgaria, is an Ottoman-era mosque designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan and built of brick in 1547–1548. Originally constructed as the Black Mosque (Kara Camii) during Ottoman rule, the building was later converted into an Eastern Orthodox church and formally inaugurated in its new religious role on 27 July 1903. The church is dedicated to Cyril and Methodius and their five disciples, collectively venerated in Eastern Orthodoxy as the Sedmochislenitsi (Seven Saints). Sinan's distinctive Ottoman architectural style is evident in the structure, which stands as a testament to the religious and architectural transformations that shaped Bulgaria's capital across centuries of Ottoman and Christian worship.
