Sorghvliedt Castle in Antwerp, Belgium, evolved from a sixteenth-century farm called Wickeleynde into an elegant château. Acquired by the du Bois family in 1660, it was entirely rebuilt between 1745 and 1750 by Arnold du Bois under the direction of architect Jan Pieter van Baurscheit the Younger, resulting in a Rococo structure with Neoclassical elements. The castle's surrounding park features an orangerie and a belvedere situated on an artificial hill. Purchased by the town of Hoboken in 1937 and converted to a town hall in 1940, it served as the district hall of Hoboken following Antwerp's expansion in 1983. Now a protected monument, the castle remains accessible to the public during weekday mornings.
