Sõrve Lighthouse stands on the Estonian island of Saaremaa, its 52-meter cylindrical concrete tower marking a strategic coastal point. Though the site dates to 1646, the current structure replaced a temporary wooden lighthouse that operated between 1945 and 1960, making it a twentieth-century rebuild serving modern maritime navigation needs.
