Stonaker Cottage, a historic cure cottage built in 1916 at Saranac Lake in Harrietstown, Franklin County, New York, exemplifies Prairie School architecture adapted to therapeutic use. Constructed as a private residence for Edwin and Jeanne Stonaker, the one-story wood-frame structure features shingled siding and a shallow pitched roof with deep overhanging eaves characteristic of the style. Its most distinctive element is a large central octagonal cure porch with quartz windows, flanked by two smaller hexagonal bays—design features that prioritized exposure to fresh air and natural light for tuberculosis treatment. The cottage was sold in 1932 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
