Completed in 2007, the T-Mobile Center is a downtown Kansas City arena designed by the collaborative effort of 360 Architecture, Ellerbe Becket, and Populous. Rising 98 meters and clad in glass, the futurist structure occupies a prominent location at the intersection of 14th Street and Grand Boulevard on the east side of the Power & Light District. Serving as the city's primary multi-purpose indoor venue for music and sports, it has superseded the older Kemper Arena, which had served that function since 1974 in the West Bottoms neighborhood.
