Designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito in collaboration with Cecil Balmond at Arup, the National Taichung Theater is an opera house located in Taichung's Xitun District. Completed in 2016, the 57,685-square-meter structure had a partial opening in November 2014 following a contracted construction period of 45 months that began in November 2009. The venue serves as a major cultural institution in Taiwan's 7th Redevelopment Zone.
