The Teatro Nuovo in Milan, located on Piazza San Babila within the lower level of the Palazzo del Toro, is a theater designed by architect Emilio Lancia in the Novecento Italiano style. Inaugurated on 22 December 1938 with a performance of Eduardo De Filippo's comedy *Ditegli sempre di sì*, it was realized as the project of impresario Remigio Paone. While primarily devoted to theatre, musicals, and revues, the theater has also hosted opera performances, serving as the venue for professional debuts by notable singers and conductors including Riccardo Chailly in *Werther* (1970) and Piero Cappuccilli in *Pagliacci* (1957).
