The Arts House, located in Singapore's Civic District, is the city's oldest surviving government building, constructed in 1827 by architect George Drumgoole Coleman in the Palladian style. Originally serving as the Old Parliament House, it functioned as the seat of Singapore's Parliament from the nation's independence in 1965 until 1999, when the legislature relocated to a newly constructed adjacent building. Today designated a national monument, the structure has been repurposed as a multi-disciplinary arts venue hosting exhibitions and concerts.
