The Bellevue-Staten is a 14-story Art Deco and Spanish Colonial residential building completed in 1929 in downtown Oakland, California, standing at the corner of Bellevue and Staten Avenues in the Adams Point neighborhood. Designed by Oakland-born architect Herman Carl Baumann, whose prolific career spanned San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento with over 500 apartment buildings to his credit, the structure exemplifies the streamlined aesthetic of its era. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1991, the building has acquired local fame as the "Ghostbusters Building" owing to its visual similarity to a notable structure featured in the 1984 film of the same name.
