The New Lawn is a three-story brick apartment building completed in 1915 in Des Moines, Iowa, exemplifying the Prairie School architectural style. Designed with a U-shaped plan and symmetrical facade featuring projecting wings, the structure showcases distinctive polychrome brick veneer and a series of quadruple ribbon windows beneath a flat roof. The building contains seven residential units and sits on Sixth Avenue, which by the early twentieth century had emerged as a major thoroughfare for vehicular and streetcar traffic. Its location reflects the period's shift toward higher-density residential development along key transportation corridors in Des Moines. The New Lawn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
