Two 90-metre-tall residential tower blocks named Clydesdale Tower and Cleveland Tower rise on Holloway Head in Birmingham, England. Completed in 1971, each structure stands 31 storeys and exemplifies the post-war modernist tower-block boom that saw hundreds such buildings constructed across Britain during the 1960s and 1970s. Originally built and managed by Birmingham's local authority as part of a major regeneration scheme, the pair—collectively known as The Sentinels—were the city's tallest purely residential towers until Bank Tower 2 surpassed them in 2019. The buildings were transferred to Optima Community Association in 1999 and are now owned by Citizen housing association, which consolidated several West Midlands housing providers.
