The Devanatha Hemabhujavalli Temple, located in Thiruvanthipuram village near Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, is a Hindu shrine dedicated to Vishnu and Lakshmi, constructed in the Dravidian architectural style. One of the 108 Divya Desams revered in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham—the early medieval Tamil canon of Alvar saints from the 6th–9th centuries—the temple is renowned particularly for Hayagriva, the ninth avatar of Vishnu and god of knowledge, housed uniquely on a hilltop shrine. Built during the Medieval Cholas with subsequent expansions by the Pandyas, Hoysala, and Vijayanagara empires, the temple bears fifty inscriptions from rulers including Kulothunga Chola I, Rajaraja Chola III, and Achyuta Deva Raya (1529–1542 CE). A granite wall encloses the complex; its five-tiered rajagopuram gateway rises 60 feet. The temple hosts six daily rituals and three yearly festivals, most prominently the chariot festival held during Chittirai (March–April).
